Back in Chile

We headed back into Chile yesterday, a longer bus ride than it should of been and one of the passengers starting bitching out the driver. All I understood was speed up and wake up. The Chilean accent is hard to understand. We got into Santiago and headed to the beach town of Valpariaso. Heading to the beach today and staying the night again at this family´s house. It was nice to get out of the constant party of Mendoza. There are also these elevators we plan on going up, the coast is surrounded hills with beautiful neighborhoods. The plan is to head to Pucon with this huge active volcanoe and then to Bariloche. Hopefully new pictures are now up. You may have to click on My Photos on the left.

Back to Santiago

We are up and about its only 8:30 in the a.m. Slightly over 2 hours of sleep. I still can{t believe people are up washing their cars and sweeping sidewalks at 4:00 in the a.m. I suppose its the nice long siesta usually from 14:00 to 17:00. Must be nice. We are headed to the beaches of Santiago and will probably be staying with a family there, although not sure yet. Chao.

Futbol, Vino, and Poco Dormir

My firtst day here was amazing. full of futbol with the local kids, fresh meat and fruit from the grocery store and wonderful cheap beer and wine. People do not eat dinner until 11:00 and head out for partying at about 2:00 which places them in bed by 8:00 am or so. It is a bit strange. I went for an great run in this beautiful park, quite wonderful. Today we just finished a tour of 4 wineries and finished with this great meal of cheese fruit vegetables and salami. But its about time for a nap in this heat. I am always wet from sweat and the sun is extremely intense, but we are heading south soon probably to Santiago on Monday then Bariloche Wednesday so it should get a bit cooler especially at higher altitudes.
