Antartica

Antartica, originally uploaded by jdtaylor.

So two days ago I returned to South America after a trip to Antartica. A wonderful experience and a beuatiful place. This picture is of an Iceberg with a mountain range in the background. To the left of this picture was thousands of penguins. I got a bit sick of seeing the penguins on land, they are a bit dirty and get killed by larger birds and eaten alive. You have to love survival of the fittest. They don´t erven help each other out, just walk away. Saw some seals and tons of Ice. All of the people on the boat were wonderful and we all had lots of fun. There were about 70 backpackers and 350 people there just for the trip to Antartica. The few days at sea were a bit rough but no one got too sick. Lots of food, drinks, and laughter. It wasn´t too cold there about 6 C. or 34 F. and it only rained on us a tiny bit. I am now in Buenos Aires and hope to add some more pictures later today or tomorrow. I hope all is well up there.

  1. John… sweet picture of Antartica … it’s the same temperature here as it is there … i read a story about squrrels( how do you spell that) in Russia that ate a dog. They said “the acorn population is very low.” You gotta love survival of the fittest. Also dude I am attaching a website that I think you and your folks would love… Lots of computer tech stuff on it … but also loads of interesting stuff happening from around the world that doesn’t get a lot of mention … like for example: a vietnamese man who hasn’t slept, not even a nap, in 33 years. Yet doctors say he is in perfect health. lots of neat stuff …

  2. John. I heard yesterday from Diana you were walking around South America. Obviously I’ve been walking around a dark hole. What brings you there? How long are you staying? I’m so jealous!
